Questions, answered
The things people ask before their first order, and the things they ask after it.
About the oil
Why is the oil cloudy, or why is there sediment at the bottom?
That is unrefined seed matter that settled out on its own. We clear our oil by letting it stand rather than by chemical filtration, so a little always reaches you. Swirl the bottle gently before use.
Why has my coconut oil gone solid?
Pure coconut oil solidifies below about 24 °C. It is a purity check, not a fault. Stand the bottle in warm water for a few minutes. An oil that stays liquid through a cold month has usually been blended.
Why does the colour vary between bottles?
Because the seed varies between harvests and we do not bleach. A fixed, identical shade every time is a sign of processing, not of quality.
Is cold-pressed oil healthier?
It is less processed and it keeps the vitamin E, antioxidants and aroma compounds that refining strips out. That is as far as we will go. We do not claim any cooking oil treats or prevents disease, and we would be careful with anyone who does.
Can I deep fry in it?
Yes, within the smoke point of each oil. Groundnut (~225 °C) and sesame (~210 °C) are the ones for frying. Coconut is lower at ~177 °C and is better suited to everyday cooking and tempering.
Do you blend your oils?
No. One seed per bottle. Blending an expensive oil down with a cheap one is the commonest fraud in this trade and it is the thing we most want you to be able to rule out.
Ordering and delivery

Where do you deliver?
Replace with your real delivery area — cities served, courier partner, and same-day radius if you have one.
How long does delivery take?
Replace with real timelines. If you press to order, say so here — customers will wait when they understand why.
What does delivery cost?
Orders are shipped within 3 days of order or payment by registered domestic courier or speed post, to the address you give at purchase. Any shipping charge is shown before you pay and is not refundable. Full detail in the shipping policy.
How is it packed?
Glass bottles, wrapped and boxed. If one arrives broken or leaking, photograph it and tell us within 7 days of receipt and we will replace it — see the refund policy.
Do you sell wholesale or to shops?
Yes. Get in touch with the quantities you need and we will quote.
Storing and using it
How long does it keep?
Six to eight months from the press date, depending on the oil, kept cool and dark. There are no preservatives in it, so storage matters more than it does with refined oil.
How should I store it?
Cool, dark, tightly capped and away from the stove. Light and air are what age unrefined oil.
Why does a dry spoon matter?
Water is what actually spoils oil. Moisture from a wet ladle is where mould starts. Pour rather than dip where you can.
Can I use it on skin and hair?
Coconut and sesame are both traditionally used that way, and ours is the same oil in the same bottle — nothing has been added for cooking use. Whether it suits your skin is your call, not a claim we make.
Refunds and problems
Can I return it if I don't like it?
Refund or exchange is available within 2 days of purchase if the item is unused, in the condition you received it and in its original packaging. Cancellation is not accepted on eatables once dispatched, but a refund or replacement is made if the quality of what you received is not good. Full detail in the refund, cancellation and return policy.
Something is wrong with my bottle. What now?
Contact us within 7 days of receipt with your order details and clear photos of the product and packaging. Once verified, approved refunds are processed within 5 days. Full detail in the refund policy.
Can I see the lab report for my batch?
Yes. Send the batch code and we will send the report itself.
